Hope Is Up For The Celtics To Have Their Best Season
The Boston Celtics are heading for another outstanding season with Paul Pierce in the starting lineup. As the last practice before Wednesday night s season opener was over. Coach Doc Rivers said the team was better than it was last year but he is still concerned about consistency. Rivers has dealt with new players each year as he enters his third season as coach. This season five of the 15 players are new. Only two, Pierce and Kendrick Perkins, are well known to the team because they were there even before Rivers arrived. Which is the main reason the concern is about how much consistency can there be between so many guys who haven t played a lot of NBA basketball. The Celtics will begin the season at home against the New Orleans Hornets, which could lead to a good start. Of Boston s first 10 games, seven are at home. The Celtics will be up against some new faces too with the Hornets, they added Peja Stojakovic, Tyson Chandler and Bobby Jackson in the off-season. Home is an important fact to gain confidence, but it is more important for a team to realize that it does not mean that it will make or break their season.
